This is a free support service for families under pressure. They help families with issues such as domestic violence; mental health; substance abuse; financial pressures; building positive family relationships; and helping families to support their child's development. They have two locations in West Burleigh and Labrador.

Alcoholic Anonymous
AA can be very a very effective support group for some people. I (Clinton Laurence) think it depends on the specific support group and your support person. AA is conducted at multiple locations on the Gold Coast but I would begin with contacting the Community Centre, Lawson St, Southport on (07) 5591 2062 and going to their website at www.aa.org.au

This six session program is to help people stay off alcohol or other drugs. Please note that a maximum of only 12 persons are allowed to attend a session on a first in first served basis.
